Context

This portfolio was created as part of my web design course in my second year. In a simple and authentic way, I show off my work and reveal my creative vision. My goal was to create something that reflected who I am and that I could be proud of.

I wanted to create a strong visual identity while keeping it subtle. So I took inspiration from neo-brutalism, using bold capital letters and large, outlined buttons, but with less saturated colors and lots of space.

My struggles

I encountered some difficulties in pretty much every area, but I eventually managed to sort things out and achieve a result I was happy with. For the mock-up designs, we were asked to provide a very detailed mood board, but this held me back a bit and slowed me down because I had to search for inspirational images even though I already knew what I wanted to do. On the coding side, I was still getting to grips with PHP, and I experienced a few problems with WordPress.

In the end, I’m really pleased with what I’ve done. It’s far from perfect, but I realise that my work is taking shape and isn’t just for passing my exams anymore; I’ll now be able to showcase it and hope that other professionals, and perhaps future clients, will like it.
